From its visual image, it can be seen that the upper part is a variation of “character component indicative of meat”, while the lower part is a character of “fire”, which means roasting the meat on the fire. Then, the duck roasted on the fire can be named “roast duck”. People roast and eat the pheasants and wild duck after hunting, which is marks the milestone in the evolution history of human civilization. As the birthplace of Chinese national culture, the Banpo maternal matriarchic Chang’an is the birthplace of roasted duck culture.
